Hartford Conservatories
History
The precursor to our modern day conservatory was engineered by the Romans. They were most interested in growing and preserving fruit trees year round, so they built conservatories with meticulous looks and engineered them to overcome some of the construction obstacles that resulted in failure of earlier efforts. The conservatory was forgotten until the English reinvented the lost art of preserving flora throughout the year. To this date, many of the Victorian styles and construction techniques of that era have been used in our solid mahogany conservatories.
Today's mahogany conservatory is a climate-controlled space that is comfortable year round and can be used as the morning breakfast room, an extension of the Great Room or a tropical garden. Whatever the need, a mahogany conservatory will bring the beauty of the outdoors into your home and display that look of elegance and casual lifestyle that you desire.
The conservatory is an incredible space in the winter when the sun comes streaming in, and the plant boxes are in full bloom, but it can also be the lasting impression you receive when you hear the hard rain hit the polycarbonate roof in full stereo surround sound. There is nothing quite like it. When was the last time you were caught outside in a rainstorm and didn't get wet?
Our mahogany conservatories can be designed to match the style that suits your architecture and sized to fit your needs. We offer three distinct styles, the traditional Victorian, the gabled Georgian and the contemporary Windsor. All styles offer a full range of sizes and wall heights, and can be finished in a mahogany stain or painted to match your house color.
